The School of Mechanical Engineering is a secondary college under Guizhou Institute of Technology. Currently, the college has two undergraduate majors in mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation and mechatronics engineering. Mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation major is one of the school's 6 first batch of enrollment majors. In 2017, it entered the first batch of enrollment in Guizhou Province. In 2019, it was established as a first-class professional project in Guizhou Province. The college currently has 34 faculty members, including 4 professors, 11 associate professors, 12 doctors, and 8 doctoral candidates. It employs 7 senior professional and technical personnel from enterprises. There are currently 951students in the college. The students won 1 national scholarships, 2 provincial outstanding students of the Three Goods, 1 provincial advanced class group, 2 advanced class collectives at school level. College students have won 39 national awards in science and technology and discipline competitions, 79 provincial awards, and 166 school awards. He has obtained 6 national invention patents, 23 utility model and design patents, 4 software copyrights, and published more than 50 papers.
The experimental center of the college has mechanical basic laboratory, mechanical manufacturing laboratory, industrial robot laboratory, electrical control laboratory, material forming laboratory, hydraulic transmission and control laboratory, tolerance and measurement laboratory, testing technology laboratory, and mechanical vibration Laboratory, CAD laboratory and other teaching and scientific research experimental platforms, the experimental center covers an area of more than 3000 square meters, and the equipment is worth more than 11 million yuan.
The college takes talent training as the center and serves the regional economic and social development as its purpose, and actively develops discipline-professional-team-platform integrated construction. At present, it has the key supporting disciplines of mechanical manufacturing and its automation in Guizhou Province, and has been approved for the construction of first-class professional construction in Guizhou Province of "Machinery Design and Manufacturing and Its Automation" and the construction of first-class training courses in Guizhou Province of "Engineering Drawing". In recent years, he has undertaken 3 national-level projects and more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects; published more than 200 academic papers, of which about 30 were collected by the three major searches; published 8 books and textbooks, and obtained more than 30 patents. The graduates trained are mainly for machinery, electronics, electrical, metallurgy, intelligent manufacturing and other industries, serving Guizhou and radiating the whole country.
