人工智能与电气工程学院是2013建校以来最早招生的六个学院之一，前身由电气工程学院与信息工程学院在2017年3月合并组成并更名为电气与信息工程学院，2020年3月根据学校的战略部署（与科大迅飞合作培养人工智能领域高素质应用型人才），更名为人工智能与电气工程学院。

学院现有电气工程及其自动化和自动化2个本科专业,电气工程及其自动化和自动化。其中，电力系统及其自动化为省级重点支持（培养）学科，电气工程及其自动化专业为省级综合改革试点专业。拥有“贵州省人工智能和智能控制特色重点实验室”省级科研平台，学院实验中心下辖18个集教学、科研与学生自主创新创业于一体的实验室。学院现有教职工37人，其中博士9人，在读博士5人，现有全日制在籍本科学生1140人。

学院积极引导教学团队进行课程建设，拥有贵州省普通高等学校科技创新人才团队1个,6163银河游戏校级双一流教学团队1个。在我院电路原理课程中引入清华大学慕课资源进行线上线下混合式教学改革、引入智慧教学工具“雨课堂”进行线下混合式教学改革，成效显著。

学院注重校际合作、校企合作、国际合作。近年来，先后与中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院、东南大学、重庆大学、香港中文大学、美国纽约大学等国内外著名高校进行学术交流和科研合作；与大唐新能源开发有限公司、昆明电气科学研究所等企事业单位展开产学研合作。

           Founded in 2013, the College of Artificial Intelligence and Electrical Engineering was recombined from the College of Electrical Engineering and the College of Information Engineering in March 2017. With the college of Electrical Engineering, one of the six original colleges in Guizhou Institute of Technology, as its predecessor, the college was renamed from the College of Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering in accordance with iFLY-TEK in March 2020.

There are two undergraduate programs in the college, Electrical Engineering and its Automation, and Automation. Of them, Electrical Engineering and its Automation is enlisted in the provincial construction of comprehensive reformation disciplines. The college is supported by the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Controlling in Guizhou, 18 teaching labs, and 36 faculty and staff members, among which there are 9 with Ph.D. degree and 5 Ph.D. candidates. The college has currently enrolled 1,140 full-time undergraduate students.

The college dedicated in curriculum reforms. With supports from the Guizhou Provincial Group of Science and Technology Innovation and the school-level group of “Double-First Class” initialization, we introduce the online-offline hybrid curricular reform together with the source on MOOC by Tsinghua University in the construction of “Principles of Electric Circuits”, and offline hybrid curricular reform with Rain-Classroom.

The college recognizes the value of creating innovative programs, developing research collaborations, and enhancing mobilities. The college has partnerships with famous domestic and international institutes, including Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science in Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southeast University, Chongqing University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, New York University, and collaborations with industries, including China Da-Tang Corporation Renewable Power Co., Ltd, and Kunming Electrical Applications Researching Institute (KEARI).
